When the Philadelphia Toboggan Company first started producing carousels in 1903, the trappings were quite simple with fancy details restricted to the back of the cantle. By 1923 when the force was carved and produced, the carvers’ imaginations were not longer served. PTC master carver John Zalae was responsible for some of the most extravagant trappings ever designed. His influence is felt in the abundant decoration of this horse. Such profusion of carving was to continue until 1933 when PTC ceased making new carousels. We are proud to offer this scaled down replica "Jumper".
