True to the impeccable standards of the Philadelphia Toboggan Company, this "Jumper" gracefully portrays a very lifelike sense of action and prowess. The original 1927 carousel horse carving from which this replica was duplicated is one of the very few that today remain in reminiscence of the golden age of the carousel. During this nostalgic period, the PTC carved 74 total carousels from the years 1904 to 1933. The company then ceased the manufacturing of carousels mostly due to competition from manufacturers of much less artistic but economical and durable aluminum cast horses.
